In 2009, the founders started brainstorming on solutions to improve the workflow for retail compliance. The problem they found was that the usual retail compliance process among the retail industry was time consuming and prone to errors, which involved the field auditor inputting data on the retail operations checklist on site with a paper and pen, then re-entering the audit data into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets when they were back in their office.
After a year of development in 2010, they launched eCheck, a 24/7 round-the-clock available web application that provides a mobile and real-time solution practical for field auditors and store managers to use. This compliance reporting tool not only addresses the problems of reducing errors and time wasted on re-entering audit data, it is also highly flexible for changes such as addition of stores, new processes and new audit methodologies. The name eCheck reflects on the simplicity, efficiency and flexibility of the tool for retail compliance.
Our team have over 10 years work experience each having worked for national retailers, working in the senior management of a large retail organisations implementing new systems and improving efficiencies within the service arms of retailers with 200+ stores. Their experience includes loss prevention, overseeing store security systems, monitoring pos and stock control.
The Road Ahead
eCheck is currently the first web application developed locally by RetailSas. Due for release in November 2010 they will shortly launch an iPad application called "iCheck" capable of running a full audit off-line enabling on the ground staff to complete their audit even if there is no WiFi available.
